278 | What's New in LABS in 2023! 🎉

Our Proof to Product LABS program is getting a major upgrade for 2023 with more accountability, incredible trainings, in-person meetups, and a wider range of support from our coaches, community leaders and your peers! Today's episode is actually a presentation that I recently shared with our LABS members, notifying them about all the incredible things that they can expect in 2023. It was too good to keep to ourselves, so we are sharing it here on the podcast with all of you!

If you are looking for strategy, solutions, and a stronger support system to help you grow your product-based business, come join us inside of LABS, our 12-month group coaching program that was built for product based business owners who want to streamline their systems and revenue.

What’s New in LABS in 2023

We’re always looking to improve our community’s experience in LABS, our 12 month group coaching program for product-based businesses. After requesting feedback, listening to our members, and reviewing survey results, we’re excited to announce what’s happening in LABS beginning this year!

Our primary focus this year will be on implementation! This includes making stronger decisions, strategic plans, and executing in your business!

LABS Quarterly Training Topics

We will continue to provide quarterly trainings with specific topics based on the needs of our community! After listening to your feedback, the 2023 topics are as follows:

Q1 - Strategy Planning & Time Management

Q2 - Sales Strategies

Q3 - Paid Advertising Opportunities for product based business owners.

Q4 - Legal Topics

LABS Programming Updates

Within the LABS program, we have a variety of opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. Our Quarterly Trainings, Community Coffee Chats, Ask an Expert Sessions, and Power Hours will be back in 2023. You’ll also continue to have access to our vault of past resources and trainings, along with our searchable member directory! While many of them will remain available, we’re expanding and exploring new opportunities as well, including a larger variety of meeting times!

Monthly Progress Pods

One of the biggest requests was for more accountability, which our 2023 members will get to experience through monthly progress pods. These are essentially an accountability group meets peer mastermind and will be led by our community coaches: Kiwi Schloffel and Lyndsay Clements!

Power Hours & Pop Up Power Hours

We have some exciting changes for our Power Hours (also known as coworking sessions)! In the past, we’ve hosted these once a month, yet the times of these calls aren’t conducive to their schedules. So our new community leaders will be hosting Pop Up Power Hours, which will be hosted on different days and times based on their availability to make these more accessible to our community!

Hot Seat Coaching Calls

We’re introducing hot seat coaching calls to LABS! This is a coaching session technique that I’ve done with my advisory board clients, yet we tested it out at the end of 2022 inside of LABS and loved it. In these quarterly hot seat coaching sessions, LABS members will have the opportunity to apply for a 1x1 10-minute hot seat coaching session with Katie that will happen on a group call.

LABS Meetings Duration

In 2023, we will be adjusting all LABS Meetings down to 1 hour each so that you have more time to implement on your own. We want to provide more concise, but efficient and highly enriching meetings together!

In-Person Regional Meetups

We hear you loud and clear—you want to connect in-person! We will be hosting in-person regional meetups this year! We would love your help in planning these!

Adding LABS Coaches & Community Leaders

You heard that right! We want you to have a high touchpoint experience as a LABS member, which is why we’ve decided to invest in coaches and community leaders for our members. These people will support you and provide you with solutions in your business based on their knowledge and expertise!

Meet Our Coaches:

Kiwi Schloffel  of Your Gal Kiwi has been supporting and contributing to our community for years—as a peer and mentor, and now a coach. Kiwi is a Paper Camp alumni, Founding Member of LABS and her Proof to Product podcast episodes are some of our most listened to episodes! Kiwi has experience with product development, expanding wholesale, selling print on demand products, rebranding and more. Kiwi believes in building businesses that align with the life you want to lead by leveraging our intuition, energy and emotions when making decisions.

Lyndsay Clements of Ellen Grace Marketing is an expert in marketing systems, data analysis, SEO and Google Analytics. You may remember her as the instructor for our 90 Day Marketing Roadmap Training and she also did an Ask An Expert Session with us where she audited LABS member’s google analytics. Lyndsay brings a complimentary layer of marketing, technology and data know-how that we all need when running businesses online!

Starting in January 2023, Lyndsay and Kiwi are going to join the Proof to Product team as coaches supporting both our LABS program and our Advisory Board members. They’ll be active in our LABS community, providing feedback, posing questions & conversation starters and they will each lead a LABS group coaching call once per quarter so that you can pick their brains. I’m so excited for you to learn from them and the different perspectives that they’ll bring to your business.

Meet Our Community Leaders:

Jessica Chaves started her business, The Crafted Goat in 2019 after losing her sister to breast cancer. She found herself leaning into art as a source of comfort and wanted to share that experience with a wider audience. Her products are inspired by memories in her life and created to deliver a full sensory and emotional experience. Jessica is excited to share ways to save money on displays for in-person markets, how to utilize canva for your business needs and easy product photography for beginners.

Janine Kwoh is the owner, artist and one-person assembly line behind Kwohtations, a handmade stationery and letterpress studio. Her products reflect and celebrate a diversity of identities and life experiences, always with humor and whimsy that is so critical to savoring the good times and surviving the hard ones. Janine is a published author and her products are carried in hundreds of stores worldwide. She’s happy to share lessons learned in writing and promoting a book, how to manage social media when your brand is tied to you individually, including boundaries & questions to consider.

Kate Pinto owns Bean Horse Car Designs, an illustration based business offering art prints, greeting cards and stickers. Kate sells her products both direct to consumer and wholesale sales channels and she’s an expert at exhibiting at in person retail markets. Kate brings a plethora of knowledge on instructional design and facilitation, with a specialization in onboarding and training new employees. Check out her past onboarding coffee chat here!

Brigida Swanson's brand Yardia offers nature-inspired watercolor home decor, cards and gifts that help gardeners and hikers express their intersectional identities and love the place they live. Brigida’s products express a kinship with nature, so that we can experience a sense of belonging and wonder.  Brigida is happy to share strategies for quieting our inner critics, how she sets goals and intentions for her business and tech tools she uses in her business to stay organized.

Sadie Teper owns Twentysome Design - a woman owned, feminist stationery and gift brand that can be found in over 150 retail stores and multiple national retailers. Sadie’s colorful, hand lettered designs are always inclusive and are designed to honor occasion the patriarchy overlooks while encompassing some cheeky whit and feminist fun. Sadie enjoys chatting about defining our customer base, how to create a cohesive product collection and how the art we create ties to our marketing materials.

These community leaders will be facilitating the progress pods, leading the power hours, coworking sessions, and providing support within our community forum!

The team and I are so excited for all that is to come to Proof to Product LABS in 2023 and we just know you’ll benefit so much from these changes!
