346 | Tripling Revenue by Focusing on Wholesale with Rachel Kroh, Heartell Press
What if you lived in a different state than your business? Meaning, all of your products, your inventory, your team, and your operations were in a completely different state.
For today's guest, Rachel Kroh of Heartell Press, this is her every day now. She lives in Washington with her family, while her team of 5 works remotely across the country. They're shipping cards and gifts to more than 1,000 stores worldwide.
In this episode, Rachel shares how she tripled her revenue by focusing on selling wholesale, strengthening her systems, and building the infrastructure of her business. Plus, Rachel reflects on the challenges of relocating her business, the impact of her art on emotional expression, and her exciting plans for the future, including a 10-year anniversary collection. She is one of our Paper Camp alumni and also one of our LABS members.

MEET RACHEL
Rachel Kroh is an illustrator and a printmaker. She lost her mom in 2019 after an eight-year struggle with cancer. Her mom’s illness taught her the value of a truly thoughtful, meaningful and well-designed sympathy card, something she’s still chasing down after ten years as owner of Heartell Press, a line of letterpress cards, art prints and gifts based on her hand-carved woodblock prints.
Rachel has slowly and steadily grown Heartell through two cross-country moves, the birth of her two children and of course, a pandemic. In 2023 she moved with her family to Washington State and now works remotely with her team of five. Today they ship cards and gifts to over 1000 stores worldwide. Their Art for Change program helps BIPOC business owners start and grow businesses. Rachel also collaborates with other companies to license her illustrations and patterns; last year she got to illustrate her first cookbook.
